What do you get when you add an Iowa bow tag and a hunt during the rut in Iowa? The potential for the hunt of a lifetime. Chris has been waiting two years to bow hunt the great state of Iowa and little did he know just how good it was going to be. Chris and Eric arrived in Iowa on October 28th. and immediately began getting geared up for a couple weeks of hard bow hunting. On the everning of the 28th, they had a South East wind and they knew exactly what spot they wanted to hunt on the LOF farm. It was also exciting to know that they had some mature bucks working that end of the farm, one of which was an old Giant bodied 6 year old drop tine buck named Cheetoh. The boys took off and hung their LoneWolfs for the nights hunt and immediately began seeing deer. It was'nt long before Cheetoh showed himself along the edge of a huge bedding area next to their set up. Chris hit the buck with several grunt sequences with his Flextone Grunt tube, and the old buck walked straight to the base of the tree and presented Chris with a 23 yard shot. The shot was perfect and the old buck fell on film. The boys are super excited to have struck so quickly on a Legendary buck and this is Chris's largest buck to date. 4 more Iowa tags are in the crews pockets and we hope the luck continues.
