On October 29th Eric and I headed to Illinois Connection hoping to put a big boy down.  On the morning of October 31st we had several coyotes chasing the deer around and barking liked crazy.  Knowing our morning was done I told Eric if one came into range I was putting a Spitfire into him.  It wasn't long until one of them came up the hill with a rabbit in his mouth he had just killed.  He stopped at 51 yds and I let him have it.  He never took another step, just fell over.  He ruined my hunting so I ruined his lunch.

The evening of October 31st I went down to a green field called the 7ac plot.  I did a pre hunt interview talking about Don Kisky always killing big bucks on Halloween and that I needed some of that luck to come my way. At about 4:00pm some does ran into the field and kept looking back into the thicket. I knew a buck would be behind them I just hoped it would be the right one.  It wasn't long before he showed up and started pushing the does around.  I originally was going to pass but kept glassing him and knew his bases were huge and his main beams were incredibly long.  It didn't take much more until I decided he was in trouble.  He walked to a pinch point in the field and stopped at 42yds. The Elite did the job and he was down within site of the stand. What a great hunt at Illinois Connection. Thanks to Doug and all the guys.
