Hey Driven Hunters,Hoping all of you are having a safe and successful fall so far! It started out a little tough for Pat and I.  We went on a few hunts early season.  Warm temps, rain and full moon didn't help us out much! This week we broke the ice!We are traveling home from another great trip to hunt with Atkinson Expeditions in Eastern Colorado.  We stayed at Craig Ranch Bed and Breakfast and this is always one of our favorite hunts we do!  We've hung our tags on some dandy mule deer out here in the past and were looking forward to doing it again! This year was a bit different.  The drought changed things this year for us, but we ended up tagging out on the 2 biggest bucks we put on Nikon EDG Spotting Scope on!Pat scored on this big ol' mature buck his 1st day out! Very similar to past year, I set up with the camera on the hill and filmed him stalk into 15 yards from the group of bucks where this bad boy was bedded.  We've had close encounters with this deer in past years and he sealed the deal this year with his Thompson Center .50 cal Endeavor.  I was up next to hunt with my TC .50 cal PINK Pro Hunter!  Ready to put a big buck on the ground Driven Style!  We hunted for 4 days straight, lots of stalks on a couple diferent nice bucks we spotted but would just never work out.  The last morning of the hunt it all seemed to come together! We spotted this buck in the EXACT SAME SPOT that I have shot my other 2 bucks hunting here.  After belly crawling in to 60 yards I made a perfect shot and he went down within 50 yards of my other 2 bucks that I shot in the same spot! Needless to say we've renamed it to Nicole's Creek Bottom!I really want to take a second and say that today was just yet another reason why we wear Scent Blocker.  We stalked into this buck with 3 other deer all bedded down.  One of the does decided to get up and feed just as we were getting to the deadfall we were going to hide behind.  She fed our way downwind and never winded us.  We hunted this creek bottom for 6 days straight with swirling winds going undected.  If that wasn't test enough, a doe fed downwind at 30 yards from us and never even knew we were there! Thank you Scent Blocker! Can't forget to add this is my 1st buck as Mrs. Reeve, LOVE IT!! Pat and I haven't antelope hunted in a few years so we were looking forward to doing it again! After 2 days we had 2 on the ground with our TC .270 Venture Bolt Action Rifle.  A Big THANKS to our trustry guide Jerome! We loved sharing the week with him again!  Just when you think it can't get any better in hunting camp, if your staying at Craigs Bed and Breakfast with John and Beth Craig, IT DOES!! Sweet people, unbelievable food and great memories!  A BIG THANK YOU to Wes & Rachelle Atkinson, our guide Jerome Vinet and John and Beth Craig.  If your ever looking for a great combo hunt, this is your place to go! While your out in Eastern Colorado hunting or just passing through don't forget to look up Craig Ranch Bed and Breakfast, you won't be sorry!
