Pat and I have been very blessed over the years to go to some amazing places and hunt!  This year has been the best year yet! Pat and I along with cameraman Shane Indrebo just got back from hunting with Frikkie Du Toit at FRIKKIE DU TOIT SAFARIS where we shot a big male Lion and Cape Buffalo wtih our Mathews Monsters!  A big male lion has always been something on my hunting "Bucket List" and I was super exicted to finally get to hunt such a dangerous animal!  Going into it I wasn't sure how I was going to feel when the situation actually arrived, but I was more then ready! After tracking this big male lion for over 3 hours we finally moved in on him to see if I could seal the deal!  The situation was perfect, the wind was blowing in the right direction and he had the sun in his face only meaning one thing...we could hopefully take advantage of the situation and get in close enough for a shot.  We stalked up to him at 25 yards, my heart pounding in my chest and all I could think about at that time, was getting the job done!  I turned around to look at Pat and other cameraman Shane Indrebo to get some reassurance, well needless to say that didn't happen! Pat's eyes were as big as golfballs when I turned around, now I was really thinking what am I doing here?!  As we closed in on 25 yards he was bedded down looking right at us just knowing in my mind that he could pounce at any time...Frikkie told me quickly where to shoot then he got his gun up and ready.  I drew my Mathews Monster back, put my IQ sight on him and let it go.  The Lumenok arrow struck him perfectly and he jumped up and made the biggest roar I've ever heard in my life.  I knew right away to knock another arrow! After he jumped up he decided to run away instead of running towards us which made me a VERY happy hunter! He only ran 60 yards and went down! At this point I was so shaken up I could barely breathe and I felt like I could throw up...I  just shot a MALE LION! "Did I really just do that?!" Getting my hands on this giant was something I will never forget! This hunt definitely will be at the top of my list for many years to come!  A huge thanks to Frikkie and Tommie for being the best PH's a girl could ask for! I wouldn't chase this critter without anyone else in front of me with the manpower and firepower!Girl Picture Time!  Frikkie's beautiful wife Natasha and their little girl Xanthe with my big male lion!Pat's dream was soon fulfilled as well as we went stalking for a the Black Death!  A giant Cape Buffalo was soon to meet his match! We ambushed this big guy on the way to a water hole and let me tell you, this was no ordinary hunt!  After sinking in a Lumenok arrow right behind the shoulder, the chase was on.  We trailed him for another few hundred yards before Pat sunk another one in.  When we walked up to this giant, Pat was one of the happiest hunters ever! This was a big ol' "duggar bull" as they call him over in Africa! It couldn't have been better! It was huge next to Pat when it was hanging up! You don't realize really how big they are until you see them in person! An awesome hunt of a lifetime that Pat and I feel so very fortunate to have experienced together! After shooting our dangerous game we still had plenty of time to go after some plain's game animals, we were going to take full advantage!I started if off by shooting this awesome Bless Buck with Frikkie! Then Pat had to show me up and shoot this big male Water buck and Zebra!Look at this Cuddeback Picture right after Pat shot his Zebra, you can see his arrow on the ground and that's his zebra taking off after the arrow went through him!Hunting from the blind was awesome! We got to see lots of different beautiful animals!Beautiful Giraffes!Sables! This big guy wouldn't leave us alone! He was our blind buddy!Kudu!Look at the Aardvark we caught! This is a very nocturnal critter and Frikkie told us how lucky we were to see one because people don't normally get the opportunity! We caught him for a few pictures then let him loose! The African Sunsets were extrordinary and we enjoyed them every night! A big thanks to Frikkie, Nathasha and kids, Greg Willis, PH Tommy and Marius for a hunt Pat and I will never forget for many years to come!
