Spook Spann Arrested
HENRY, Tenn. – A professional hunter from Tennessee, made famous by his own hunting reality show, has been arrested again.
Officials with the District Attorney General's Office said 50-year-old William "Spook" Spann was arrested Friday morning after agents raided his Fairview home. Spann was indicted on six criminal counts Thursday.
Authorities said Spann has been accused of destroying cellphone evidence stemming from allegations of state and federal wildlife hunting violations, such as "baited" turkey hunts. They said his wife, Marty Spann, was also taken into custody in connection with tampering with evidence.
In 2013, a judge deemed that Spann had violated the terms of his probation in a federal criminal case from 2007, in which he pleaded guilty to illegally hunting and killing a deer on a hunting trip in Kansas. Spann told NewsChannel 5 he did not realize the Kansas hunting license he bought only allowed him to hunt on his personal farm.
Spann later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for a violation of the Lacy Act. He admitted killing the deer without the proper permit and taking the antlers out of Kansas.
During the raid on his home Friday, officials said a small amount of marijuana was also found in a bedroom, along with a pipe.
A warrant has since been issued for Spann's 20-year-old daughter in connection with possession of marijuana, according to officials.

y don't they pursue real issues this hard and in-depth...if they did they might see how screwed up our entire country is...but he deserves to be thrown in jail for this crap...Just sayin...

Man.... Spook must have really pissed off the wrong people. Sounds like they are out to get him! Not that I think he didn't have it coming the 1st or 2nd time. Now it just seems like they are picking on him.... :)

Difference between license and tag. The hunting license is state wide, he probably had a hunt own land tag. I heard he didn't have permission on the land he shot the buck on in Kansas anyway.

A "professional" hunter that doesn't study game laws before he hunts in a state which he owns property? The term professional should be swapped out with half-a@#ed. Put this guy away and make an example out of him. Just another hack that gives honest to goodness hunters a bad reputation.

I challenge all hunters whither professional or not to hunt ethically and morally...I teach hunters safety in my state and doing the right things even when no one is looking is one of my main goals.... throw the book at him and his wife... take his money and firearms away and auction them off and send the proceeds to an animal rescue or state park..

Of all the things to lie, steal, and cheat about this guy chooses hunting animals what a d-bag. After the first couple times he still had sponsors for his show, how did he even get air time with his reputation. He's not the first and he's won't be the last the last, this "industry" is so far from where hunting needs to be it saddens me. Baiting turkey... are you kidding me?

Jesus people! Just like the rest of the Pro-hunters on TV, he was a wealthy man, to begin with. That's how you can afford to own all that land and hunt all the time! I can not believe that you people put so much faith in them!!!

Spook didn't act alone in 2007. He was knowingly aided by Tom McMillan on the hunt. They both knew the ground they were hunting on wasn't ground that he had purchased from Tom McMillan. Tom was all too eager to have his picture taken with Spook after the hunt, too. Amazing how the federal prosecutors found Spook more responsible than the person guiding him on the hunt.

wow! There is honest guys out here that would love to have their own hunting show or even be on one!! And then you have ungrateful people taking advantage of what they have been blessed to do.
