Finding a kindred soul to share your love of the deer woods is not an easy task. With exception to Lee and Tiffany Lakosky, most men probably feel it’s best if they don’t share the same obsession with their significant others. After all, then we couldn’t suggest to them that absence makes the heart grow fonder each November.

For Davey Montford of Georgia, he did find someone who shared his passion for the outdoors - and used that passion to propose marriage!

After an uneventful opening morning of the gun season, Davey dropped subtle hints to his then girlfriend, Krystal Rooks, to put down her weapon and check the photos on their trail camera. He had the memory card pulled and already in his pocket. She accepted and inserted it into her digital camera. At about the 5th picture in, she got the shock of her life! The photo was of Davey, crouched in the frame holding a wooden sign that simply read, “Will You Marry Me?”

will you marry me

Hunter, Davey Montford, proposed with the aid of his trail camera in October of 2010.

When Krystal turned around to look at Davey, the poor guy was already on his knees holding out a ring. Her reply, “Of course I will!”

Krystal would later say that the event was a complete surprise. She had been up since before sunrise, wearing camo, and had no make-up on. The wedding is already scheduled for this May.

Congratulations are in order for the happy couple! The Hunting Network staff hopes you have many more years of enjoyment in the woods together. Mazel tov!
